At the start of the month, I laid out some plans I wanted to complete before it was over.
Here's how I did on my Plans for the Month of May:
Hook my brother up for his birthday.
DONE! It was his 30th, so I gave him a nice birthday to get started on this next phase of his life on the right foot -- debt free, which he is working hard on.
Determine what I want to do for my birthday in September and how much it will cost so I can start saving.
ALMOST. I know what I want to do, mostly, but haven't estimated the costs yet. I have to nail that down so I can save the money.
Plan for another trip to Japan.
ALMOST. My friend got all the cost details for a trip, but I realized that I wouldn't have the money saved by this fall to go. I could do it for next fall, though, so I will start putting the pennies away!
Start a book club.
FAIL! I totally forgot about this one.
Think of some day trips and all girl fun with my home skillets!
DONE! Went to a winery Memorial Day weekend with some peeps and planning some happy hours and, I hope, karaoke!
Plan some family summer fun.
DONE! Talked to my cuz who is going to visit in June with her hubby and loudmouthed kids.
Find courses in technical skills I'll need for the next step in my career, and save money to take them!
ALMOST. I've identified several -- most of them free, thank goodness. I have to commit the time to go through the courses and study for the certifications. I also identified a technical writing/desktop publishing course I want to take and will try to get my employer to pay for it.
Overall, not bad! Plans for June? Meh, playing it by ear for now.

Hey J,
I'll start a cross-national book club with you! Chao and I kinda did this, but we only read one book together - The Road. We discuss via email and on the phone.
let me know!
