The Tax Refund is in the Can

Last night I checked my bank balance as I was making sure I had everything accounted for in my budget.

And there, my savings account looked awfully swoll. For a split second, I hoped that maybe I just had so much money that I forgot about a thousand dollars or so.
But reality came rushing in real quick.

It was my federal income tax refund.

I promptly transferred the $1,044 to my checking account. Then, I promptly scheduled a payment for today to my credit card for the whole amount. As I previously pledged, I'm using my entire refund for my credit card.

    Done and done.

I still have a drip of money coming my way from my D.C. refund -- about $100 or so. That's going on my card too.

I did put less of my regular monthly payment on the credit card to sew up this monthly deficit I've run. I should be squared by the end of the month and back to my regularly scheduled payments.

Since my original debt repayment plan didn't go exactly the way I hoped (but for good reason, as I mentioned in my previous post), I have to rethink how I am going to pay down this debt sooner rather than later.

    Stay tuned.

Great work! So, where does that leave your CC balance now? You are going to be debt free before you know it! Yeah!

Congratulations for sticking to it and putting your entire refund on your CC. Soon you'll be debt free... imagine that. :)
