Back to the Business At Hand

    Hey gang!

Sorry for the long hiatus, but I had to work some things out and between those things, my new job, wedding planning and further building the relationship between me and my guy, something had to give.

First, welcome to all the new folks who have been stopping by the blog and leaving comments! Glad to have new cyber friends and allies in the fight against bad debt.

Second, I have great news! I have reworked my debt repayment schedule and right now I am on track to be out of credit card debt by December 2007!
I dipped into my emergency account and used $700 to pay down some debt on one card (don't worry, I still have $1,000 in the Ex account).
I now owe $13,825.74! Just at the start of the month it was $15K.
Next, my phat credit score allowed me to open up a new credit card with a 0% APR until September 2007 and I transferred $12,000 to the new card. The remaining balance I'll have paid off in the next two months. This will save me more than a thousand dollars in interest over the next year.

Now, the Dec. date is later than my target debt-free date of Sept. 25, 2007 (my 30th birthday), but, it's possible that I might still make that target. I'm excited because I'll be out debt way before my original date and I won't lose thousands on interest.
I'm working the monthly budget... it's starting to become automatic. And my guy paid me a wonderful comment the other day. Though he is a wonderful saver, he told me that if it hadn't been for my blog and my research, he doesn't know what kind of mess he'd be in. Glad I could help!

Glad to have you back, sounds like you are right on track! What a nice compliment from your guy! Hope all is well, and looking forward to more posts again! :)

Welcome back, and congratulations on your successful budgeting! Without your help, I wouldn't be as "in the know" about my own financial status. I'd post my own "Debt-Free Date", but it's too embarassingly far in the future! LOL!

I just have to let you know what an inspiring post this was. Perhaps it's because it's one of the first I've come across with a personal story attached to it and a hopeful and positive outlook. But, I think not...I wish you all the best and continued determination.

I just sent the above post. Sorry I didn't realize I left off my "signature".
